How to Transfer Your GoDaddy Domain To Another GoDaddy Account

You are able to transfer a domain name from your GoDaddy account to another GoDaddy account as long as the domain is eligible. If domains are pending contact update approval, within one day of expiration or already expired, or already pending a transfer, then they aren’t eligible for transfer.

Domains will keep all existing DNS settings even when transferred to another GoDaddy account, but any connected products like a website or email, will not transfer with the domain.

Here’s how to transfer a GoDaddy domain to another GoDaddy account

  1. Sign in to your GoDaddy Domain Portfolio.
  2. Select the domains you want to update. If you want to update all of them, then select the checkbox next to Domain Name and choose Select All.
  3. Select the Transfer to Account option from the action menu.
  4. Enter the new account owner’s email address and enter it once more to verify.
  5. Enter a new customer number. If you choose to do this, the email address you enter must match the email address for that customer number.
    • Note: This step is optional.
  6. If you want the current contact information on eligible domains to be copied over to the new account, click either Yes or No.
  7. Select Send Transfer Request.
    • If you have Domain Protection on your domain already, then you will have to verify your identity first in order to complete this step, either by way of two-step verification (2SV), or with a one-time password that is sent to your registrant email address.

After you’ve followed all the steps, the domain transfer has officially begun! All recipients need to do now is accept the domains into their account. Do this by selecting View My Transfers to review additional pending transfers, or select the View My Domains option to go back to your Domain Portfolio.

Note: Recipients need to check their email and accept the domain transfer within 10 days. Otherwise, the account transfer will expire.
